We are well aware that gambling has a certain negative stigma attached to it. But for many, it is not negative at all. We may even go as far as to say, positive. Cambodia’s Prime Minister ‘Hun Sen’ has banned gambling in all of its forms as of last August. The effects of this ban have taken effect and, it is pretty devastating.

Thousands of people have lost their jobs, livelihood’s even, due to casino’s being shut down. New task forces have been assigned to ensure all casino’s are being shut down immediately as well as any online gambling operations. This leaves little wiggle room for people who wish to continue this hobby.

How do you feel about this? Is Cambodia’s Prime Minister right in banning gambling? Or should he maybe take different steps? Perhaps create more outreach and support programs for people who do suffer fro gambling addiction (much like an alcohol addiction). People suffer from alcohol abuse however, you certainly do not hear of countries banning alcohol.

Gambling has been proven time and time again to boost a country’s economy by collecting a steady revenue stream from the hobby.
