Recently, President Donald Trump signed an Authorisation Act so that people of the military will now have to screen for gambling addiction. This screening is necessary directly linked to medical needs and the Secretary of Defence must submit a report to Congress with all of their findings. The screening will be a Health Behaviours Surveys for Active-Duty members.

Apparently, this screening for military members has been on the back burner for some 15 years and now Trump has made it one of his top priorities. In the past, some studies found that Active Duty military members were 2 or 3 times more likely to have gambling problems as opposed to regular civilians. Perhaps their long tours with little to do can attribute to this finding. Nevertheless, the screening will better help prevent the issue as well as treat it.

Happy Spinning 🙂

Curious about the logic behind making this a priority, but seems beneficial addressing neglected issues.
