The World’s Most Expensive Gadgets!
If you’re a tech nut, you haven’t exactly picked a cheap hobby. These days the cost of various gadgets and gizmos can easily run into five, six or seven figures, with prices escalating every day. With that in mind, just think how handy an online casino jackpot would be – all the funds you need to invest in your habit, and instant access to the world’s top tech items, like:
iPhone 5 Black Diamond — $15 million
An iPhone? How can an iPhone cost $15 million now, seriously? Well, if it’s the iPhone 5 Black Diamond it can – a smartphone that took an unbelievable nine weeks to create, and was fashioned from 135g of solid 24-karat gold and 600 white diamonds, with a black diamond for the home button, and sapphire in its screen as well. Yes, it’s serious overkill but it’s also the priciest item on this list, which makes it a stand-out. Commissioned by a Chinese businessman, the iPhone Black Diamond is one-of-a-kind, and isn’t available to the general public as far as we’re aware. Although if it is, then a bodyguard definitely needs to be included in its selling price.
iPad 2 Gold History Edition — $7.8 million
We’re not done with Apple technology yet, because this model is one for the books. Weighing in at a full 2kg, the iPad 2 Gold History Edition is no ordinary tablet. Instead it’s one that features a 57g T-Rex bone in its casing, as well as a frame crafted from Ammolite, known as the oldest rock in the world.
What’s more, its back panel is crafted from 24-karat gold, with the Apple logo encrusted with 52 diamonds, and an 8.5 carat diamond in place of the usual home button, surrounded in turn by 12 smaller diamonds. All in all this blend of the past and the future commands a hefty $7.8 million price tag, which is likely why only two of them were ever made. That and the fact that there aren’t many spare T-Rex bones lying around. Not the type of tablet you want to let your kids watch Peppa Pig on, that’s for sure!
Hart Audio D&W Aural Pleasure loudspeakers — $4.7 million
Forget your fancy headphones and Air Pods – if you’re looking for supreme sound quality, then you’re looking for the Aural Pleasure speakers by Hart Audio, designed in 2012 and priced at $4.7 million.
Why are they so expensive? Well, apart from being the only pair ever made, they’re also fashioned from 18-karat gold, weigh 50kg in total, and have three speaker units for ultimate sound quality. Of course, if your budget doesn’t quite stretch to the single pair of gold speakers, you can shell out $315 000 for one of the five sets of silver speakers, or $63 000 for one of the 99 sets of bronze speakers available – whatever you can afford. But if you’ve got that casino jackpot to help you out, you might as well go for broke and splash out on the gold. At that price it’s got to be worth it, right?
Aerodream iPod and iPhone dock – $560 000
Taking a big leap down into (only) six figures, the Aerodream dock is unlike any you’ve ever seen or experienced before. Standing at 11 feet tall and boasting a 10 000 watt stereo system, the Aerodream truly is the ultimate sound partner for your Apple device – or if you don’t have an Apple product, simply attach the USB to the device you do have, and enjoy crystal-clear surround sound in every direction. Make sure it’s secured, as with a weight of 871 pounds, it’s not something you want falling on you or your furniture – but also make sure it’s accessible, as you’ll have to climb a ladder to place your device at the top of its 11 feet. No wonder it costs $560 000 – but what a talking point, right?
Nintendo Wii Supreme — $497 300
It seems almost ridiculous to think that a Nintendo Wii could make it onto a luxury gadget list – but if that’s what you’re thinking, you’ve obviously never come across the Nintendo Wii Supreme. Now discontinued, the Wii Supreme is crafted with 22-karat gold and features a total of 19 carats of diamonds in place of its front buttons. With only three ever made, it’s most definitely a collector’s item, especially when taking its 2.5kg weight and $497 300 price tag into account. Would you ever use a Wii Supreme if you bought one, or would you keep it as an expensive conversation piece instead? One thing’s for sure, it’s not the type of console you’d haul out on games night for everyone to have a go at.
Flying Car – $350 000
Looks like they were onto something in Back to the Future II when flying cars were all the rage. Now just a few decades later you can own your very own flying car, for the bargain price of $350 000! Of course, it’s not quite the same thing, but almost. Instead of converting from car to plane mid-flight, this vehicle needs to be manually converted from one to the other before it can become airborne.
How? Drive this three-wheeler down the road and you’ll be able to go at a steady clip of 110 miles per hour. Then if you’re in the mood for flying, just stop on the side of the road, convert the car into a plane, and you’ll be able to take off, eventually reaching a top speed of 220 miles per hour. It’s not exactly James Bond, or even Marty McFly, but it’s a step in the right direction. And if you’ve got the $350 000, it’s a step you’ll be able to take for yourself. Just please, whatever you do, don’t forget to wear your seatbelt!
While you might not have any of these gadgets right now, you do have one that’s equally as rewarding – your online casino of choice! Make your play via smartphone, tablet or desktop, and who knows – one bet, one spin, or one deal of the cards, and you could soon be the proud owner of one of these cutting-edge creations.
Good luck!
