The World’s Most Expensive Properties!

It’s been well-documented that the first three items on most jackpot winners’ lists are luxury home, luxury car and luxury holiday – usually in that order as well. So let’s say you actually do win that ultra-huge payout you’ve been after for years, and want to start at the top of the must-buy list. How do you even begin to look for that new home you’ve always dreamed of? Well, we’ve done a little digging and rounded up some of the world’s most expensive homes for you – take a look and see if you can imagine yourself walking through the door of any of these…

The Bubble Palace (France) – $418 million
Ok so this isn’t exactly your typical home – in fact when we first saw it, we thought it looked more like octopus tentacles than anything else. Luckily we were wrong, because rather than calamari, this $418 million home is all about bubbles – probably why it’s known as the Bubble Palace. Set in the sparkling city of Cannes on the French Riviera, the Bubble Palace was originally designed by Hungarian architect Antti Lovag, and is made up of numerous bubble-shaped ‘pods’ that give it its singular futuristic appearance.

Of course while it might look unusual on the outside, it’s nothing but luxury on the inside, with 10 bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a waterfront swimming pool, and a 500-seat amphitheatre, all located on a sprawling 13 000 square foot estate. Not so funny now, is it? In fact, it’s such a unique living space, we’re not sure exactly why designer Pierre Cardin is selling it, but what we do know is that if you have a taste for the extraordinary, you’d better get in there fast!

Odeon Tower Sky Penthouse (Monaco) – $330 million
Slightly more affordable than the Bubble Palace at $330 million (haha, affordable), the Odeon Tower Sky Penthouse in Monaco is less of a home and more of an astounding feat of architecture and design. Stretching five storeys into the sky, and sitting atop a skyscraper, this extravagant location boasts floor-to-ceiling glass walls and 35 500 square feet of space – everything you need for the most breathtaking views of the city before you. Of course the penthouse is fitted with the clean, sophisticated interiors you’d expect, as well as five bedrooms and bathrooms, but what makes it truly unique is its waterslide that stretches all the way from the dance floor down to its glorious infinity swimming pool below. If you’ve got the money, and the chutzpah, then you’ve found your next home sweet home!

Molokai Ranch (United States) – $260 million
If you feel more at home in the wilds of nature than you do in the urban jungle, try this on for size – the Molokai Ranch in Hawaii, USA. Located on the island of Molokai, and encompassing 55 575 acres of the space (equating to 35% of the island itself), the ranch feels more like its own self-contained town than a simple living space. Put down an offer on this homestead, and you won’t just be getting four walls in the deal – you’ll be the proud owner of a working cattle ranch, a hotel, and two golf courses as well, all along more than 20 miles of prime Hawaiian coastline. Sounds like a bargain to us – and even better, it ticks the luxury home and luxury holiday boxes at the same time! So if you want to put a welcome mat outside this door, best you get playing and winning as soon as you can!

Happy Spinning 🙂

Intrigued by luxurious aesthetics, but question practicality of living in such grandiose settings long-term. Curious about maintenance.
