Deuces & Joker Power Poker is a heavy-hitting variation of video poker wherein the player has a chance to be dealt up to 5 wild cards. All 4 deuces, and the one joker, are wild cards. In fact, although not highly probable, landing 4 deuces and the joker is the best possible hand. More probable is achieving a high ranking hand by combining other cards with wilds. Because wilds are so common in this video poker game, the pay table has been reduced so that the lowest ranking hand to produce is payout is 3 of a Kind, not the standard Pair of Jacks or Better.

Because it is deemed a ‘Power Poker’ game, players are able to participate in more than one hand at a time. Power poker games of this nature can actually present anywhere from 4 to 100 hands in a single play. Do bear in mind, however, that you will be paying for each hand played with an additional 1 to 5 coins per hand. Thus, while the payouts can multiply incredibly, it can also be rather costly when playing higher hand amounts.

The rules and payouts detailed below are based on the 4-Handed Deuces & Joker Power Poker game developed by Microgaming, the leading online casino games software provider. As with all Microgaming video poker variants, there is an optional Double feature extended with each winning hand. Please be aware that the player actions and pay table may be slightly different if playing at other land-based or non-Microgaming powered online casinos.

Let’s take a look at the basic screen options of 4-Handed Deuces & Joker Power Poker. To play this game with more than 4 (up to 100) hands, simply multiply the digits below accordingly.

  • Optional Coin Sizes: $.25, $0.50, $1, $2, $5
  • Coins per Play: 4 to 20
  • Min / Max Bet: $1 / $100
  • Max Payout: 10000 Coins
  • Lowest Winning Hand: Any 3 of a Kind

How to Play Deuces & Joker Power Poker

The first step is to select a coin size by clicking the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons. Next, you will choose how many coins, per hand, to bet. Click Bet One as many times as needed to place the desired bet, then Click the Deal button. If you wish to bet the maximum 5 coins per hand, press Bet Max and the cards will automatically be dealt.

You will see four hands, one dealt face up, the others face down. Work on the face-up hand for now, clicking each card you want to keep to produce a HELD sign on it. If you don’t want to keep the card, click it again so that the HELD sign is gone. Any card not HELD will be discarded. Remember that all Deuces and the Joker are wild, so make sure you hold onto those.

When ready, click Deal and all un-held cards will be replaced with new ones. Your other three hands will also become visible at this point, each containing the same cards you HELD in the first hand, plus new cards in pace of all discards. Each hand is electronically dealt from a separate, randomly shuffled deck of cards, producing different outcomes on all hands. Any hand that ranks high enough (3 of a Kind or better) will be paid winnings according to the pay table. Bets for hands that do not win will be lost.

If any hand wins, you are asked if you want to play the Deuces & Joker Double feature. To play, click Double and you will be playing a quick high-low game for double-or-nothing the winnings. To decline, press Collect and your current winnings are paid.

Deuces & Joker Power Poker Double Feature

The Double feature starts a 5-card game of high-low. The first of 5 cards is dealt face-up. You must select one of the remaining cards. If the card you choose ranks higher than the original card, you double your winnings. If not, all winnings from the previous video poker hand are lost.

Any time the Double feature is won, you are given another opportunity to Double again. Click Double to play another high-low game, or press Collect to keep the winnings and return to video poker.
