William Hill Pays Biggest Mobile Win in Bookmaker History

William Hill is among the oldest bookmaker companies in the United Kingdom, dating all the way back to its establishment in 1934. It is one of the most reputable betting organizations in the UK’s online gambling industry, setting benchmarks and busting molds since it was first established on land and online. Now, William Hill is breaking more records with the announcement of an enormous mobile casino payout, said to be “possibly” the largest in the history of any online bookmaker.

The massive win was struck by a UK member of the William Hill mobile casino who chose to remain anonymous. The 33-year old forklift driver was playing the popular mobile slot, Cop-the-Lot, a “cops and robbers” themed video slot available on mobile devices and tablets. The lucky winner spun the reels on a mere £6 GBP wager (equivalent to $9.10 USD) and looked on as the reels became stationary, one by one, in a perfect pattern that awarded a largesse prize of £866,000 GBP ($1,313,982.69 USD).

“I had to turn my phone off and then turn it back on again because I thought there had been a malfunction. I just could not believe it,” said the highly enthusiastic winner. “I cannot explain how I felt as I just went numb. I have never been to another country and there are so many places I would love to go. I want to take my family around the world although first, I want to go to Tokyo & New Zealand.” The forklift driver also said that he absolutely loves his job, and that he has no intention of leaving it.

According to a statement from Joe Crilly, a spokesman for William Hill, the payout could “possibly” be the largest win on a mobile gambling amusement. “This is our biggest ever mobile payout and is probably the biggest win in the history of mobile gaming,” Crilly said. “There is no doubt that we will see our very first mobile millionaire soon.” The spokesman jested with pride that William’s Hill fortuitous winner, who loves his job beyond measure, would now be able to purchase 86 shiny new forklift trucks, or 4 sleek Aston Martin sports cars.

The Cop-the-Lot mobile casino slot is based around a “cops and robbers” theme, presenting 5 reels and 20 pay-lines. It is characterized by a multitude of munificent features, including a triad of scatter symbols that trigger lucrative bonus scenarios and/or free spins, plus a progressive jackpot that can be struck in multiple ways. One of the more favorable aspects is the free spins bonus, instigated by landing three Smash n’ Grab Scatters anywhere on the reels. The screen changes to an array of safes, each containing a hidden number of free spins. The game is played dramatically similar to the hit television series “Deal or No Deal”, where the player picks one safe to keep, and two safes to open in the beginning. From there, they are offered a sum of free spins based on the number of free spins remaining in closed safes. They can ‘Take It or Leave It’, choosing to accept the number of free spins or continue opening safes.

Impressed by graphics, but concerned if spins alone engage players beyond initial novelty. 🤔
