Anyone who knows poker knows Daniel ‘Kid Poker’ Negreanu. He’s the charismatic, cool-headed Canadian poker pro with five WSOP bracelets, 2 WPT title and more than $18 million in live tournament cash winnings. He’s also the guy that runs one of the most popular poker training websites in the world, Poker VT, as well as his own poker forum, news and blog site, Full Contact Poker (FCP). Last but not least, he’s the guy putting up 1% of his 2013 WSOP winnings as the grand prize in this year’s FCP Fantasy Pool.

This isn’t the first time FCP has run its WSOP Fantasy Pool, and won’t likely be the last. But if you didn’t get in on the exciting action last time around, here’s how it work. A mass of poker players who are participating in the 2013 World Series of Poker is split into 15 groups. Members of the FCP website will build their pool by selecting one poker player from each group, creating a list of 15 players. The amount of ‘Global Poker Index Player of the Year’ points earned by all 15 players will determine your position in the pool.

Each participant in the WSOP Fantasy Pool will receive a score; the sum of all points earned by their 15 players. The person who has the highest score at the end of the 2013 WSOP, including the Main Event, which won’t wrap up until November 5th, will win the grand prize: 1% of Daniel Negreanu’s 2013 WSOP winnings. Those who place among the top 20 will also receive prizes.

The FCP Fantasy Pool grand prize has been capped at $10,000, and there are certain events, specifically those with the highest stakes involved, that won’t count towards the accumulation of the 1% prize. The following events, should Kid Poker cash in them, will be excluded from the total sum of Negreanu’s winnings:

  • Event #47: One Drop High Rollers NL Holdem; $111,111
  • Event #52: 6-Handed NL Hold’em; $25,000
  • Event #55: The Poker Players Championship; $50,000
  • Event #62: NL Holdem Main Event; $10,000

Prize allocation for the top 20 WSOP Fantasy Pool winners is as follows:

  • 1st Place: Grand Prize (1% of Negreanu’s 2013 WSOP winnings, up to $10k)
  • 2nd-5th Place: Apple iPad Mini
  • 6th-10th Place: 6 month all-access subscription to Poker VT
  • 11th-20th Place: Signed copy of Negreanu’s book, Power Holdem Strategy

In order to participate in Full Contact Poker’s 2013 WSOP Fantasy Pool, you must be at least 21 years of age by the start of the World Series of Poker (May 29, 2013). You must be an account-holding member of the FCP Forums (opening an account is free). It is possible to have more than one active forum account, but only one entry to the fantasy pool is permitted per person. Obviously, only events that generate GPI Player of the Year point will count towards the pool. And finally, all entries must be submitted no later than 9PM EDT, May 29, 2013.

During registration, each participant will be asked to guess how much money Daniel is going to cash in for throughout the entire 2013 WSOP. Should the FCP Fantasy Pool end with two or more players tied for a placing position, the one who guessed closest to the exact amount of Kid Poker’s overall earnings will place higher. Good luck!
