Industry leading online poker room PokerStars finally wrapped up its special Lamborghini Freeroll competition over the weekend, awarding the breathtaking Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 to Brazilian poker player “marciocid”.

The PokerStars Lamborghini Freeroll has been an ongoing freeroll tournament competition that started back on July 25, running through October 3rd, 2010. The online poker room hosted freeroll qualifiers every hour of every day throughout the duration of the promotion, along with cheap cash satellites right up until the Grand Final that eventually took place last Sunday.

The grand final featured a $250,000 prize pool that would be shared among the top 5,000 finishers, with the first place winner taking home $20,000 in cash, along with the coveted Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4.

The eventual winner, “marciocid”, outlasted an enormous field of 16,848 competitors who battled it out, tooth and nail, for what PokerStars called the “most famous and iconic” car ever designed.

As this awesome promotion comes to an end, PokerStars still has a lot of promotional tournaments on the schedule, including nightly $500 NAPL Freerolls. Along with the chance to cash in on the $500 prize pools each night, Canadian and American players are competing for free tickets to the North American Poker League.

Cash tournaments are also held nightly for as little as $0.11 with guaranteed prize pools in every tournament and NAPL tickets at the end of the road. These tournaments award points to the top finisher; the higher the finish, the more points you get. The top point-scoring finishers will win the NAPL tickets, while every week the highest points scorers will receive cash prizes for their efforts.

PokerStars is running a similar promotion being held for the Australia and New Zealand Poker League. Like the NAPL is restricted to American and Canadian players, the Australia and New Zealand Poker League is exclusive to those in that region. Satellites and qualifiers, including freerolls, are being held daily.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg in the online poker room’s promotional department. PokerStars runs MTT leaderboards, the PokerStars Women’s Poker League, charity tournaments, live event satellites and many other ways to get in on your favorite tournament action.

PokerStars is owned and operated by Rational Entertainment Enterprises, licensed and regulated in the Isle of Man. Players from most regions, including the USA, are welcome to sign up a free account and play for fun or real money. New depositors are welcomed with a 100% up to $600 online poker bonus.
